ViaWallet provides two kinds of backup methods, this tutorial takes the encrypted backup as an example, if you need a commonly-used method to backup, please check How to back up mnemonics.
For encrypted backup, you need to set a mnemonic password and save the ciphertext QR code. Both are required when importing to the wallet.
The mnemonic password is an 8 to 32-digit password to encrypt the mnemonic for the second time.
The ciphertext QR code is generated by secondary encryption of the mnemonic by ViaWallet according to the mnemonic password you set.
Step 1: Go to page Me and choose Manage Wallet.
Step 2: Tap "..." on the right side of your wallet and check more management operations.
Step 3: Select "Back Up Mnemonic Phrase".
Step 4: After entering the security password to complete the security verification, carefully read and check boxes to agree to each security tip, and then tap "Encrypted Backup".
Step 5: Set the 8 to 32-digit mnemonic password (secondary encryption for the mnemonic) and keep the password safe, and then tap "Generate Ciphertext QR Code".
Step 6: Tap the button "Save and verify", the image will be saved to your album.
Note: To save the QR code, album permission should be turned on.
Step 7: There will be a pop-up window after saving, follow the instruction, scan the QR code and enter mnemonic password, to verify the correctness of the code in time.
Step 8: The mnemonic encrypted backup is successful.
