Your digital assets used for staking will be safely guarded as long as your private keys and mnemonic words are securely stored in your hands.
If the validator you’ve voted has any intentions on abusing the system resources or unable to make sure the stability of the Main Chain, a certain amount of fee will be deducted as punishment. In this case, your staking rewards might be affected whereas coins used for voting will be remained unchanged.
